Who we are
Multi-SFM is operated by [REQUIRED: your name or registered business], [REQUIRED: your country]. Contact: [REQUIRED: a contact e-mail address].
What this policy covers
The Multi-SFM plugin for Source Filmmaker, the Multi-SFM server it connects to, and this website. Payments are handled by the platform you buy on (for example Patreon), under its own privacy policy.
Data the service processes
Your license
- Your license key is stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form. The plan, its end date and the date it was activated are stored with it.
- A computer ID, so a key works on one computer. The plugin sends a one-way hash of an ID from your Windows installation, never the ID itself.
- A purchase reference, such as your member number on the platform you bought on, so a purchase is only fulfilled once. Your e-mail address is not stored by the license server.
- Notes the operator adds to a license (for example a name to recognise a purchase).
Your profile and messages
- Your nickname, friends and friend requests.
- Private messages, group chat messages and community server messages, including pictures you send. The server keeps a limited number of recent messages (for example the last 200 between two friends) and deletes older ones.
- The names of recent projects you opened in a party and how long you worked in them, shown back to you as "recent projects".
Discord
- When you link Discord, your Discord user ID and username are stored to confirm that you are a member of the Multi-SFM Discord server. Membership is checked again about once a day. Your Discord username is shown to other users under your nickname.
Party content
- Scene changes, scene files, shared model files and voice audio are passed through the server to the other people in your party. They are not stored on the server.
- Party chat messages and pictures are kept while the party runs.
Connection and safety data
- Your IP address is used while you are connected (to reach you and to limit abuse). It is never shown to other users. Server logs keep only the first half of it (for example 203.0.x.x).
- For the free version: the free key is stored together with your (hashed) computer ID, so the same computer gets the same free key back; and the time used each day is counted per key, per hashed computer ID and per one-way hash of your IP address, to apply the daily limit and to stop the free version being started again and again from one place.
- Reports you send or receive, and actions moderators take (suspensions, bans), are stored for moderation.
On your computer
- The plugin saves its settings and your key in a settings file, and writes a log file
(
sfm_collab_log.txt) on your computer. The log is only shared if you send it to support.
This website
- The website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. It remembers your monthly/lifetime price choice in your own browser (local storage); this never leaves your device.
- The web server may keep standard access logs: [REQUIRED: what your web server logs and for how long, or 'no access logs are kept']
Why we process it
- To provide the service you bought: licensing, parties, sync and messaging.
- To keep the service safe: preventing key sharing, abuse of the free version, and harassment.
- Legal basis: [REQUIRED: e.g. 'performance of a contract and legitimate interests (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f))']
Who receives it
- Other users see what you share with them: your nickname, Discord username, messages and party content.
- The server is hosted by [REQUIRED: the server hosting company and its country].
- Discord receives requests from the server to check your membership.
- Data is not sold and is not used for advertising.
How long it is kept
License data is kept while the license exists and [REQUIRED: how long after a license ends, e.g. '12 months'] afterwards. Messages are kept within the limits described above. Free-version usage counters are kept for a few days. Moderation records: [REQUIRED: how long reports and moderator actions are kept].
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or its deletion by writing to [REQUIRED: a contact e-mail address]. Deleting your data can end your access to the service. [REQUIRED: your local data-protection authority, if any]
Children
[REQUIRED: the minimum age to use the service, e.g. 13 or 16]
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new effective date.
